Wheel Test Fit. 9's and 11's
Test fitted the new wheels today. Looks like the 9's and 11's are going to fit just fine Now it's time to rebuild the Speedlines a bit bigger and a bit more shiny!

Fit? Are you sure?
From your long-range picture, looks like both front and rear wheels are hanging out of the wheelwells.
I'd recommend that you try turning your steering wheel to see if the rims contact the inner body. If they do, you'll need to install the 10 mm thick steering stops.

Have some faith guys
These were custom built. Between my measurements and a porsche shop close to CCW so they could do some mock up stuff. Should be all good. Will have to run a bit more camber then what I have now. They should work out great
Tire sizes will be 225/40 on the 9's and 275/35 on the 11's.

On these matters there's only one guy I trust: Jim Dorociak. If he says 9's and 11's will fit, it's money in the bank. I'm pretty sure he doesn't think 11's will fit in the rear. If I were you I'd check with him before you commit funds to this.
I thought the whole point of wider wheels was the opportunity to run wider tires.
225-40's on 9's? Why not go to 235's? That's what I run on 8's.
275-35's on 11's? I run 295-30's on 10's and I'm looking to go to 305 or 315 when I make my rear wheels 10.75 " wide in the next few weeks.

We've already determined that 11's fit here... https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...ew-964t-2.html
and some pics of 11 rears.
11's with 285/30 here.. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...aka-965-a.html
Maybe something is different with the spokes of speedlines or something that make them not work for 11's on the C2?

I'm running 245 front and 295 rear on 9 and 10.5" rims (hoosier A6's). Rim's were custom made by Jim Fiske for a 91 Turbo. If you stick with 285's you shouldn't have any problems if you get your offsets right. As mentioned earlier it's not the rim...it's the tire to trailing arm.
I've personally seen 305's mounted on a turbo with the factory trailing arms. It's close. The way they made it work was lots of camber.
The ultimate solution is to back date to the narrow body trailing arms and run some 345's. The look alone is worth all the effort!

Don't forget it is not only the wheel size but the offset the tire size the tire shape (varies by manufacturer) along with the ride height and stiffness of suspension. I guess you have to consider your comfort zone too.
I am running 295 MPS2's on 10" speedlines and my car is low I would not consider anything larger. I have 3/8" clearance on both inside and out and if you are pushing the car to its limits it will rub. For general street cruising it is one thing for hard driving I would reconsider.
What is the rolling dia of the 275 you are looking at? I have never seen one that comes close enough to the 25" you should be focusing on.

Time for a update. Got the tires mounted up this morning. Decided to go with 285/30 on the 11's and 225/40 on the 9's. Test fit pics coming soon

Quick garage test fit. 11" ET56 w/ 285/30. Couple of mm on the inside. Should be good to go. May add a bit more camber. We'll see once I get them all mounted up and go mash some corners
You'll have to excuse the distorted wide angle pics. Was a tight squeeze!

Cool wheels...similar style to the Speedlines...looks great and yes you are a brave man...to boldly go where no man has gone before...I can't wait to hear how it works out but looks great ...who manufactured the wheels?
