I have determined that this is not a package car and it does not have the X88 option. It is VIN 480445 not VIN 480454. Coincidently it has the same M options as 480454 which can happen. Also Black with Black leather is the most common color combo. So these two cars are easily confused.

I guess they need to change their ad and lower their price.

Their prices always make me feel good about my 4500 mile 993 turbo S

So these were 1992 Turbo S then?

Probably belong to the same collector-the Speedline centers were all painted the same maroon color. I wish I had some pictures but my camera ran out of batteries and I only got one of the wheels. These cars are not on their website either.

I can verify that this car is VIN 480445 as they sent me copies of the warranty start date and service records.

What sort of price delta are we talking about between the 2 cars in your opinion ?

Well there are others on this thread like Cobalt that could give you a better estimate of its true value than I can - I don't follow the 3.6 market that closely. All things being equal if it were 480454 it would probably sell at $150k (not $170k) and as a 3.6 maybe as much as $80k given the factory rear vents - so in the neighborhood of $70k price difference would be my guess.

There is something wrong in the description ... it says twin turbo (it was not, of course) and custom-order built in 1993 ... are u sure it is a REAL Turbo S? ... and ... btw ... the interior might not be of everydody's taste, to say the least ...

Both the white and silver cars with the Burgundy wheels are 1992 3.3l turbo S's. ROW production only. Desirable for what it is not how much you can stomach the color scheme. IIRC they both came from the same collection. I posted pictures of these cars on another thread.

Ok; that clarified, it remains the fact that the description is not fully correct ...

True, but even people like Richard Sloan who sells lots of these cars around here always exaggerate and twist what the cars are about to make a sale. Not all used car salesman are alike. Some actually know what they are selling.

I would have to agree with Mark on this one. Assuming these are factory installed turbo S vents that would make it unique but how much more so than any other 3.6T? Your guess is a s good as mine. I am not aware of any factory cars other than the S's that came to the US/Canada with this option so on the assumption they are real it is unique but does it make it more desirable? IMO Mikes previous signal green 3.6T being a unique one of a kind color would be worth more than black over black with side vents.

If it had the full body package other than the splitter and vents and had a factory turbo S tail (I believe I have the only factory, never mounted, turbo S tail left in existence) and the proper speedlines, someone might be willing to pay a premium to have a turbo S appearance clone but I would consider this to be in the $75k+ range. This number would depend on overall condition, original paint or not and records.

On the surface this appears to be a well cared for 3.6T with sport seats and leather appointments. Suspension has been changed and I don't know if the Canadian market received a different head unit for the stereo but that was not standard issue on the US cars. Paint looks almost too perfect for the mileage but some might say that about mine which has about the same miles.

Since there have been so few nice 3.6T's available lately if you are looking for a nice example grab it even if over priced before this one sells. The only other stock turbo in very nice condition that sold recently that I am aware of was one of the other 2 Cobalt blue cars, I know of several people who were interested but only one lucky individual was smart enough to grab it quickly and it sold in less than a week.

This is no collector car but it appears to be a nice 3.6T and I hope it ends up making someone very happy for the right price.
