I looked into it. I might do this in 2011. It can protect the paint and it can be removed at a later time as well.

I have a question. When they threw the whole material over the front and also over the top of the car was it already sticky? Meaning they just cut the excess off after using squeegee and taking air bubbles out?

Incredible work and a great video. Improvement on the original color IMO.

Any ideas on the ballpark cost ?

$650.00 for enough material to cover a coupe/sedan. Do the labor yourself and I am sure it will be cheaper than a paint job, no? Reversible too, may protect paint, then remove it later on after putting miles on the car.

In Sweden it costs $2200 for a Porsche 996TT. They need the car for two days.

They said it took 24 man hours. 24 hours at $75.00 USD per hour is 1800.00 I am guessing most of it is labor hours.

Imo:

1) looks cheap
2) it's too modern (not the vinyl, real matt paint) and does not suit older cars

I think this is a valid option if you are afraid of your own reflection in your car.
