Wow that sucks. This is something I don't care to answer on an open forum. She could always use it against you. Try to buy her out with something else and in this market it is worth far less than what it should be. Offer her $13k towards something else and call it half.
Women are very simple creatures. Just offer to buy her something in exchange for keeping the car. So long as it look shiny, she'll capitulate.
Because of the money involved, divorces are rarely that simple.
Assets acquired during the marriage get divided, period. Factor in if the wife has a marketable skill that pays a living wage (many don't), the number of kids the couple had together and many times the guy has no choice but to liquidate everything to make the split work.
Paul, your skills and knowledge are overwhelming! On a lighter note,Ive been divorced for 8 yrs and I still have to tell my ex the porsche belongs to someone else.Good luck with the sale

Jock, it's not I that is getting divorced (thank God). However, I've known a lot of people who have (just recently my sister) and it's just ugly and no one wins. Sounds like you know this first hand.
My wife is great; she lets me be me and understands my passion for high performance cars. I am very fortunate, no doubt about it.
Greg, best of luck to you. I'm certain that you will be back in the Turbo game in the near future when all of this is behind you.

Been there done that; horrible experience. As I said, so long as she THINKS she is getting equity she's probably stupid enough to never know.
