Default 3.6T Fuel Distributor Upgrade or replace???

I am having a few fuelling issues (hot start and rough running) and trying to trouble shoot them one by one :
- clean injectors
- pressure accumulator
- Leask adjustable WUR

The workshop reckons the fuel distributor is on its way out so what are my options on this? Is it possible to get them refurbished/upgraded or is it a new unit?

Thanks

There are two ways I know of that a fuel distributor will fail (1) rust or other contamination (2) ruptured diaphragm.
If it's on it's way out, driveability will be crappy hot or cold. If you just have a hot issue I'd start with looking at residual fuel pressure (an indication of the accumulator condition) followed by system pressure, followed by warm control pressure.
This would be a good time to insure that other parts of the fuel system are functioning up to spec. Pull your injectors and test the spray pattern of each. Also, plan on re-building the WUR (I recommend Brian Leask), especially if you are running over stock boost.
