Default A/C compressor replacement.

http://www.car-stuff.com/store/?N=11...698+11921+9270

due to some noisey! bad bearings I need to replace my ac compressor. Has anyone used this part or is there a source that I could use to get just the clutch/pully section seprate and replace just that?

Thanks

Ro i have looked all over the world for the clutch and pully as i have the same problem. My Compressor is good but the clutch and bearing are bad. This polar bear site seems to have every clutch except for ours. I called them and they said they dont have it and cant get it so i think porsche screwed us on this one. http://www.polarbearinc.com/pbpc/hom...Anchor-10PA15C

Heres another, i dont remember talking to them so you may want to......http://mtcc.en.ec21.com/Auto_Air_Con...d--270216.html

That price of 189.00 dollars is good but do you know if it has the correct belt pully on it??

You may be able to get just the bearing out and replace that however, when it warms up im gonna look into that. http://www.polarbearinc.com/PBPC/Hom..._Bearings.html

Let me know what you find out.

Hey Jerry

I have not had luck getting the clutch/pully parts in a stand alone setup.

The only place near me that can help at a better price than the dealer is AP Car Design.
They have the complete unit for 350.00E so I may just go with that. Very good company

Funny thing though! The dealer told me you can't drive the car without the ac belt?
The cost of the part through them would be 580.00E
very high I think!

The part number for our compressor (Other than the denso PA15C) is 471-1125 according to this website. http://www.densoaftermarket.com/cata....php?part=comp

If that is true then they have the whole thing here for $248.00 if you type in 471-1125 http://www.densoproducts.com/resultsSearch.asp

Yea i think the ac belt is what turns the alternator.

No im pretty sure the AC belt drives the Alternator shaft and the thin belt drives the fan which just spins freely on the alternator shaft.

21 is the second pully sitting on my alternator shaft.
I noticed not all 3.3 are configured this way?

one of us should call and verify if its a direct replacement part through the denso source!

on second thought i will bite the bullet and just go local for peice of mind and the easy return if its not what I need. I would hate to pay customes fee and VAT only to find out it does not work.

ok, the a/c compressor belt runs off the crank pully as does the fan belt.

I find it hard to believe you cant remove the AC belt?

The fan belt runs the fan and alternator from what I see.

how could pully #21 in the image above run the generator when the fan unit is fixed to the generator shaft?

RO the fan has a bearing that spins freely on the Alternator shaft it does not turn the shaft so if you remove the AC belt and start the engine (if you could) the fan would just spin and not turn the alternator shaft. The AC belt pully #21 is what actually turns the Alternator shaft.

will have to order it from Pelican Parts. They have a factory replacement in stock.
The only source I know about does not have it in stock anymore. The dealer would want 1500.Euro
for a new complete unit!! thats a no Vaseline price!!

Wish I knew of more local companies close to Frankfurt that sell 964 parts ??!!??!!
