Replacing engine mounts
#31
Managed to get a picture of my mounts last night - need to be replaced. I am assuming the white car shown a few posts above is not a turbo, hence the different carrier (& bolt length).

Well I dropped my car of this morning and in theory some 993C4 mounts are being fitted as we speak. I'm collecting it tomorrow and will report back on whether they fit, and whether I notice any difference.

My car now has 993C4/Turbo mounts fitted. Mechanic said the bolt length was fine. Can I notice any difference? Nope, but I drive my car so rarely that I never notice any difference to anything!

Well, were your mounts that bad to being with. I do not know much about mounts or from the pic you have but I have to look at mine since my car isn't close to stock. Where did you purchase your mounts?

Gandara - Like I say, I rarely notice much with my car cos I drive it infrequently. I had brand new suspension & geometry done and didnt really notice a change!
Rich - I dont have a part number, but my Indy said they are the mounts for the 993 C4/Turbo. I got them supplied through my indy, who gets stuff direct from Porsche UK, for c.£110. I assume they are these ones.

I've just bought some WEVO mounts. WEVO has not tested their mounts with the 964 Turbo, but I figured that I'd just source some longer bolts locally when it arrives. Has anyone actually used WEVO mounts on their 964 Turbo?

Hi, did you ever get them installed? When I spoke with Wevo the guy did tell me they never installed a set on a 965 Turbo but thinks they will work.

I forgot to update everyone. Yes I did install them. I bought longer bolts and nyloc nuts. I'm not certain I needed a longer bolt, but I didn't want to risk it. Everything seems to fit fine.
I haven't had an opportunity to put the car through its paces since winter has set in with a vengeance.

Is this the one you installed? Is this all I'll need to install them? Thanks

Yup, that looks right. It comes with a bolt and nut to attach to the engine carrier. I bought a longer bolt as the supplied one was about 10mm shorter relative to the stock hydraulic mount.
