Default For those with the Becker CDR-220 conversion

Just a quick question for those with the Becker CDR-220 conversion....

Does your CDR-220 sit flush with ur dashboard are does it stick out a little bit (5/8"). I am not sure if i can push it deeper into the din to make it sit more flush. I just did the conversion on my '91 Turbo and it's great the only complaint I have is that it doesnt sit flush and I cant tune into station 87.7 (the radio will only go as low as 87.9). Thanks in advance.

it sticks out a bit, but 5/8" is to much, i have less than 2/8" (about 4mm).

Mine sticks out 1/8 inch.
Make sure that it's sliding into the support bracket in the back and that no wires are entangled in the bracket. You will have to lie with your head in the passenger's footwell to see the back of the radio. It's a pain but it's the only way to see what's going on that's holding your radio out.

mine is almost flush with the dash, but it took some quality time under the dash in a rather painful position to get it that way. Make sure all the wires or anything alse is out of the way of the radio

So see JR now you've heard it twice, so it must be true

Haha yup, I LOVE the radio it looks and sounds awesome. I have to order the keys in order to release the locks so I can move the wires around better, but I figured I'd be able to get it in there deeper. Right after I finished installing it I started having starting/fuel problems so I haven't even been able to drive the car around and enjoy the new radio I have an appt Tuesday to have the car fixed along with some new exhaust tips
