Temperature considerations blower pipework unions
Hi all,
Nearing the end of fitting my new headers and various other jobs on the car from over the summer.... I need to find replacements for the original orange-coloured rubber unions that are used to connect the blower pipework to the back of the heat exchangers (they're the wrong diameter for the new heat exchangers).
The obvious choice is some Samco silicone rubber hosing, but I'm unsure if the temperature and environment these connectors have to work in is outside the range for the normal air/oil/water pipework (rated to 170'c) or the 'Race' versions of the same (rated at 250'c).
Anyone have any ideas as to what sort of temperatures the standard orange rubber couplings are designed to withstand?
