Smile Just wanted to shout out to Rod Birch

Just wanted to say thanks to Rod at Car Audio Innovations.

I wanted to replace my stock sound system. He hooked me up with some Focal K2's for the doors as well as some Focals for the rear deck. I spent yesterday wiring in the crossovers and the JL audio amp..............all I can say is what a difference from the stock system. I also picked up a Kenwood head unit that has an amber setting that matches the Porsche gauges.

Im very happy with the new set up........Thanks to Rods advice.

Cool

U dont realize how crappy the existing system is until you change it out. Then again it is almost 20 year old technology.

My rear speaker cones were actually rotted out from the sun beating on them...........Yikes!!

Nearly $400 for a few pieces of MDF covered in carpet that don't even make an actual enclosure has always seemed overpriced to me. No fiberglass and the subs aren't even flush mounted.

Mine are all in the original speaker holes so that it looks completely stock.

Question: You improved the sound and you didn't add a subwoofer?

I was told by a local guy here that if I wanted to add depth to the sound the best way is to add a subwoofer. I consulted with Car Audio and he has a solution that normally would be reasonable except I don't want to lose the back seat floor space as I have two little kids and that would virtually eliminate my ability to take them with me. Rod is a great guy!

Yes we put a 5-1/4" Focal + tweeter under the rear speaker grills.
I did have to remove the rear deck and lengthen the speaker holes with a dremel in order to fit the rear speakers in. The finished look is still stock.

I can post some pics if need be...

Those guys are awesome; he gave me the info on how to put Image Dynamics subs in the rear footwells. They really know how to work on our cars...
