So sorry to hear Andrew. The most important thing is that you were not hurt.

Minty - Latest on Insurance Settlement
Just had what will now be the final call from N.U. concerning Minty’s insurance settlement.
Following a week of NU playing their cards close to their chest and stating they were finding it difficult to value the car accurately from Glass’s Guide! I was starting to get a little bit impatient with their apathy.
Following a flurry of calls this afternoon NU have conceded to full and final settlement on the car at £50k – less £600 excess.
I have clearly dipped out on any financial gain here; (possibly as much as £5.5k) but all in all I am OK with the end result.
Concerning NU policy over providing details of the possible future recipient of the car they were adamant on this, stating…
we have a legal obligation to ensure that the car goes to the ‘right’ source
and that they have fee paying web-based clients who will be afforded the opportunity to bid on the car and secure her for subsequent repair or whatever.
I stated that as an owner who has been contacted by a short list of interested parties, I would be happy to put NU in touch with each of them to broker any mutually fruitful outcome. They were not remotely interested in such a suggestion!
So that means that we will probably be seeing Minty again somewhere, someday?
Will let you know what/which car I replace Minty with.
Thanks 'all' for your repsonses to my original post, and words of encouragment.
Regards Andy B

Good news and it does look like a fair deal for you that must be a relief.
Hopefully someone interested in rebuilding her will buy her but it might as well be someone just looking into making a profit on the undamaged parts. Fingers crossed !

1993 Motorshow Clip
Found a youtube clip of the 1993 Motorshow I first saw Minty at.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckNGj2txw9U
In the 964uk.com article I was quoted as saying...
"I recall the memory of my first glimpse of Minty at 25yrs of age; drained of her fluids and hung on a stainless steel fabrication that looked not dissimilar to the Brooklands banking. From the curved walkway above the distinctly Zermatt silver theme could be easily viewed,.."
Not the longest of clips, but I remember it like it was yesterday ! (for those with a weak constitution - sorry about the 456 Fezza afterwards).

Sorry to hear about this. Glad you're ok though and I'm sure you can replace it with something good for £50. Perhaps time for an RS?!
Do you have to accept NU's offer, or can you decide to sell it on yourself?

Sorry to hear about the car, I was chatting to Tiff about it this weekend at Le Mans, he said it was sad to hear about it being written off, i was a little worse for wear to be honest so the conversation was a little short..

Andy,
I hope you will keep us posted with updates about Minty and let us know if she will be alright and get repaired by someone in the future.
Once again, I am sorry to hear about you loss, but I hope you someday will find youself behind the wheel of a 964 Turbo again.

Be happy that no one gets really hurt.
What way will go minty now?
If the minty were LHD, I try to buy and fix it.
Iam also interesting in the wrack for a cool narrow body project.
My best wishes to you, but a car like that you will find hardly.
Tom

The death of a family member, is how you describe the loss of a ****ing car. And the reaction of the members who wrote in is insane. People dying all over the world, children with cancer ect. ect. What the **** is wrong with you all. Never cry over anything that can not cry back. Where are your values? **** Minty.
