It was Midnight Blue - and yes that is the same car. Looked like a bargain too at <£40k for a 19k miles 3.6!

Interesting, your car features in my other post on my car. I looked long and hard at many, many '64t's during my hunt for K876 XRX and in hindsight yours was the best value, condition, mileage car of them all. Northway must be kicking themselves that they didn't see the market increasing just a few months later; largely stimulated by a couple of other dealers and some special metal. Now it seems a number of others have jumped on the gravy train.

Nice car - look after it, it will prove to be the right decision over time I anticipate

Thanks, I had actually enquired about this jet black one but it had just sold a few days before. I found this one a few months later, I really wanted a low mileage example with a nice colour combo. Northway were selling it on behalf of a customer, if it was theirs id say they probably would have looked for more. Ray Northway was contemplating buying it for himself. He was great to deal with - even drove the car to meet me at the ferry in Holyhead !

Its time to get a few upgrades (suspension and exhaust) done soon - watch this space...

i dont think he advertised it,i think the price 58000 euro is about 52000 english pounds bearing in mind the speedlines needed a light refurb,as did the brakes and it needs 4 new tyres because the car has not been used for quite a while so i think that it needed 3k spending on it but apart from that it was spotless.

Toppy Market maybe James, but if the car is as described it would have been of real interest to Mark Sumpter, probably at more than 52K? Their B on B car was known to them and they paid good money for it when it came back-in. £59k is fair for something you really want IMHO and I'm not a betting man but I wouldn't have been surprised to have seen it in their window for late £60's following the remedial works.

Looking forward to seeing the pics mishpet

I don't doubt there are people still spending money, but this market as correction written all over it. People are looking for assets other than bank interest/stocks, but there is plenty more **** to hit the fan and expensive old cars just wont be a priority. Cash is king, for the next 5-10 years.

Regrettably I have say....only a fool would disagree with that statement at present. As many highly respected businesses are/will be reminded, for daily operations, purchases and acquisitions "cash flow is king", you're right!

A bit off topic but i would like to hear James`& others view on Gold as an alternative to cash or classic cars.
I moved a fair bit into gold and trade it regularly. That said, 3.6t cars are more than an investment & are
worth whatever you can afford to get the one you really want.

Paragon would only take my car on sale or return, they have very little cash.
I agree the market is toppy, and would add that petrol will likely hit new highs in the next couple of
years and dampen a rise in prices of old cars.Especially in high tax countries like the UK
where scurvy politicians court the green vote and penalise the motorist.

Gold at $1200, short cable, short euro. Oil going no where any time soon. People will focus on value. A 3.3 with EFI is worth twice a 3.6 LHD or RHD, in terms of value, all IMO.

Agree with all you say including a target of $1200 gold this year.Where it gets interesting is 2010
when all the money printing may fail to increase velocity of money in the system.Good economists like
Phillip Manduca are predicting $2000. Maybe these Russian guys have the right idea ;

maybe but try and get twice the value of a rhd 3.6 for a 3.3 it wont happen,if there are only 80-100 rhd 3.6t worldwide then different market forces come into play,12 months ago there were a few immaculate 3.6t for 40k there are non now 50k plus and still rising, but not going lower.

the point about the 3.3 is valid if its efi etc more fun and has cost an arm and leg to get sorted, the 3.6 tends to be left more or less standard,in .GB at least so as not to hurt the resale value.
i have noticed 3.3 values from 20-35k where as 3.6 rhd start at 35k-60k as with all markets supply and demand will and have always dictated.pete
