Yeah Porschah's car looks fantastic in person. Same as the other pearlescent paints of the time, they take on a different look depending on lighting.

I agree with the others either the 3.3 or 3.6 is a fine car makes more sense to build up a 3.3 since entrance costs are lower and both can be made equally as fast. Although recently pricing on clean 3.3's have shown to be on the rise.

I think we are getting to the point where total production numbers means even more since the # of quality cars still worth buying is dropping fast. In the US the total number of all turbos imported were less than all the 93-94 3.6T's manufactured worldwide.

Total numbers for 3.3l were 983 for US and 3134 for ROW or a total of 4117. 3.6T's were produced at 1121 ROW and 466 US or 1587. Don't forget all numbers include cars manufactured and used for racing programs and special S programs when you consider how many cars were turned into race cars, DE cars and or have been totaled or salvaged we are starting to see fewer clean examples of either model available. In the case of the 3.6T a good number of them have been purchased and shipped out of the states in the past 6 months leaving even fewer good clean examples. Anything in a rare color is even harder to come by since so many were painted standard colors.

Is Amethyst a metallic pearl effect color similar to Midnight Blue Pearl on the 964's ?

Did everyone notice there was no spare tire in the trunk of that Turbo S?
Wonder if it come that way from the factory?

Yes it is basically Amethyst is very similar to my cobalt but in red. The pearl effect paints vary in how much they change color. Some like Midnight blue change 3 basic colors (black/blue/purple) Amazon green is closer to 5 ranging from black to several shades of blue and sometimes green. Cobalt changes from dark blue to light blue to purple to almost a dark pink when the sun is low in the sky. Of course all these colors vary depending on which panel you look at and how the light is hitting it. IMO any of the pearl effect paints of the 90's were some of the better metallic colors Porsche has ever used.

I would guess to say it was removed. IIRC the spare tire is part of the crash worthiness of the car. All the usual sources mention the turbo S script on the carpet but no mention of spare tire delete. Although the LHD versions did get a larger 92 liter fuel tank so this might impact fitting a spare
