I have same problem tas, except mine goes left when i lift or accel. I know my car needs a full alignment because my right rear is wearing bad on the inside of tire. I figured it was an aligment issue let me know what you find out.

Check your rear tire pressures, if one of them is considerably lower than other, car will veer one way under acceleration and back again on lift off.

Check it yourself to be sure. Your issue sure sounds like unequal rear toe to me.

Hi tasracer,

there's a lot more to the tweaking of a 964/965 chassis.

Beside the alignment there are things to consider like:
- wheel load (important! separate, more difficult adjustment, you need special balancing systems)
- tire pressure
- wheel spacers
etc.

To really work it out to have go through these one by one.

Cheers,
hvh

Are the brakes dragging?
If all the tyres, joints and bearings are OK then you need to check alignment & cornerweights again.

If tas had a wheel load problem the car would pull all of the time, not just under acceleration.
Tire pressure was already discussed. When I had a low tire my car pulled on downshifts only.
Wheel spacers? If one was missing maybe but I doubt it.
I like Nathan's idea of a dragging brake but, once again, I think one would feel that all of the time.

Hi Metalguru,

you're right with your reply. Add please the recommendation about the brakes to the list. The point is I finalized with is: "To really work it out to have go through these one by one". We're talking performance sport cars here and they need a very good setup overall. So check off each point one by one and it should solve the problem (additionally also add wheel balance).

Regards,
hvh

I don't disagree with that. Alignment is the most likely culprit and therefore goes to the top of the list, IMO.
