Default 3.6 turbo problems

hi all. I came across the forum through google.

My 3.6 seems to be dying out. i will be driving along and the whole dash will turn off . the headlamps are still on and also the illumination is still on but everything else such as warning lights rev guage etc turns off. i thinks this is also turning the engine management off as the cars engine can often turn off after a few miles.

has anyone else experienced these type of symptoms and have a solution.

thankss

Well I had a similar situation in my 996tt. My dash lights went out suddenly but my headlights continued to work. I never had any issues with the engine however. It turned out to just be the headlight switch itself. I replaced it and all is normal again. Good luck.

Check your battery terminals.

i think the problem came down to some faulty relays in the end.

There is also a ground wire from the transmision to the chasis. Most of the time this one gets corroded.

see if you can replicate the symptoms by wiggling the key. Sounds like it may be a bad ignition switch.
