Default UK 3.6 Turbo?

So what about this 3.6T? seems really cheap for a UK car considering the premiums they are commanding these days?

It's been around for a while. It's got a relatively high mileage, no mention of the service history, the interior looks scruffy and it's missing its Speedlines (c.£3k alone). All in all I'd say it needs a lot of money spending on it - which explains the price.

Money pit comes to mind...

Seems like someone took a sander to the drivers seat.

Why, oh why would someone get a 3.6 then get rid of the speedlines? I can accept riding around with another set for track use or whilst originals being refurbished but not to have them at all seems madness.

Agreed that the car looks like a £££££ project.

Looks like its had paint and a loss of speedlines shouts hedge backwards.

The 3.6t has one of the worst engines in the world regarding cost if it has not been looked after. The Jetronic engine management (KE I think) is a hotch-potch pile of poo. If there are faults it can take weeks for an experienced mech to find. The 3.3 has a much simpler version.

Looks like it's still for sale!... given that one of our newest members has just bought this beauty...

for repairs I'd say 5k for a top end rebuild, 3k for wheels (if you can find them), as for the leather I know the drivers seat looks tatty, but I don't think it is a lost cause. A redye and treatment should only be a few hundred, at worst a recover is £600 plus labour (try talking to Southbound)

So if you add it all up you'd be looking at say 9k plus purchase, which you should be able to negotiate down. Speedlines look great but at the mileage your not going to get the serious collector knocking on your door come resale time, so you could live without them. Just my opinion.

I think it might be a good buy at around 24-25k.

Steve
