Default clutch vs. 742 HP, on the ground

Hey guys/gals, I have a '91 c-4, was normally aspirated, spent a small fortune to have it converted to TT with 742 HP on the ground! Clutch assembly only lasted +/- 3000 miles, it now slips in all 5 forward gears, does anyone have a suggestion on a replacement assembly? MANY THANKS, TJN/Vettekiller

You need a tripple carbon setup. Not cheap but there are not many choices at that level.

Contact Bello's Motorsports in N.Y.. he has over 1000 hp in his 964 which was converted to TT... ask them what they use.

Google his name (Eddie Bellos or worlds fastest Porsche)

Protosport also would propably be able to help you out. They specialize in Porsche TT cars.

turbo@protosportinc.com

They also have numerous cars that are heavily modified and run the Texas mile
with insane power levels.

They are located in Pompton Plains N.J. 973-839-5353

They advertise in the Porscheforus (NNJR region)

Hope this helps.

The setup that Stephen is telling you about is certainly the best. I used to have a triple plate AP Racing setup with the sequential gearbox and with very small flywheel etc. In fact Olli might still have it and might want to sell it.

Other options that work at least with me are a high clamping 890NM SACHS pressure plate such as the one sold by FVD (they say 1000NM), Cargraphic etc.. with a GT3RS clutch and RS flywheel. I don't run much boost on my car but I run 6.2s 60-130mph runs and it does not slip, and have stock 993TT drivability.

Don't go with racing clutches!

I have a KEP (Kennedy Engineered Products?) stage 2 pp in my car. Good to 600 ft/lbs on a stock organic disk. Throw a 4 or 6 puck and it should hold much, much more.

The only problem is, the puck clutches will wear out the flywheel and pp surfaces when used on the street. I pulled mine out and the disk milled the surfaces to around 1/8". No exxageration!

Talk to Kevin @ Ultimate he sells complete kits that work very well and are well priced as well.
