Would you guys be able to give me some pros and cons of the 964 Turbo
as I not familiar very much with the driving characteristics of the older Porsche??
Maintenance costs etc.....I could use as much education as possible about this car!!

Also If any of you know of a really nice one for sale.

Any input would be very much appreciated....

Thanks in advance!!

I sat in an F40 a few years back that belongs to a mate. Far to sparse in side and very much race car interior which does not make it a nice road car. Power delivery is very all or nothing. My mates wife won't go out in the car anymore as it makes her feel sick. As he says, take it out for a blast once a month for a couple of hours and put it away.
Prices for F40 and 993GT2 are not that far discimilar these days. But the GT2 as per the 964 3.6 turbo is a completely useable road car.
The 993GT2 was never federalized for US roads. The use of light weight glass, plexi, the removal of 5 mph impact bumpers and many other things make it impossible to federalize here. The same with cars like the 964RS, 964 3.8RS, 1992 964 turbo S etc. Unfortunately, all the really special Porsche's can only be imported and used for track use. I believe there are some new laws in effect that will allow you to register it for show use, but that would limit your driving the vehicle for less than several hundred miles to and from shows only.

Not sure what the 993GT2's are commanding but I thought they were in the $200k range as where F40's are bringing a low of $600k.

This is why we relish the 94 turbo so much here. For street use it is as close to these other cars we can legally drive on our streets.

993 GT2's can be bought for from $100k-$130k DOC. May fall further with the introduction of the new and improved ...

I like what they did with the new GT2 although it is over the top pricing.

So I can pick up 4 or 5 993Gt2's or 3 997GT2's for the price of an F40. Hmmm what would i do? LOL.

Nice car but I think Mark is correct that over here they don't command as much because of their limit to track use only. There is one in our region that I see at the track all the time and even with its recent 40 hour engine rebuild they were only asking around $100k for it.

Great lines on these cars.

A proper F40 and 993GT2 are fetching very similar money. For a decent car, ie original pannelled, service history etc you won't get much change from £180,000. Look at www.mobile.de I think you will be suprised.

Assuming mileage and everything is the same it appears the markets may different here vs there. Under 10k mile F40's bring around $500-$600k here. I would assume that is around £275,000. to you. There is a much larger demand for F40's here than 993GT2's because we can drive the F40 on the street but can't drive a 993GT2 on the street.

Although in this market who knows what someone will pay for anything now days.

I to would like a 3.6 964T for myself. I'm probably way to young for one, and have insufficient funds too. I accept donations via paypal too if anyone is interested. (^_^)

Would you have a buyer for this ?.

It is one of the documented 17 but does not have the rear arch intakes or 'S' type rear spoiler. From memory the mileage is about 60,000 and the price is around $90,000. Don't take this as gospel, if you are interested I will obtain the exact information for you. The car is in the South of France,
regards, Graeme
