Default "Super Attack" on the Nürburgring 964 turbo

Check this out, never seen anyone driving this fast with a 964 turbo on the Nürburging. According to the poster (see Q&A further down) this is a Bridgestone test driver in a stock 964 3.3 turbo on street tires.

Did some checking, the lap is the Auto Sport kind of lap (not the whole T13 section), you need to add 4 seconds or so for a "real" full lap, for a BTG lap you remove 20 seconds or so from this lap. So you are looking at a 8.13 full lap and a 7.45 - 7.50 BTG lap. Very impressive indeed (he needs to let go of the throttle at one turn due to some "road work")!

As an comparison I did a 8.11 BTG, but with a lighter and stronger car on R-rated tyres (with a little bit of traffic).
These cars do very well on this track!
Enjoy!

Yeah, he is really going for it.
He is way more aggresive than I ever would be on this track, especially going into the turns, I only use 2nd gear at three - four corners, he uses 2nd gear on a regular basis, but I think this is the way to go really fast with these cars, "risky business" though (perhaps not for him)!

With no traffic I reckon (or dream) 7:50 - 7:55 BTG would be how far I would be able stretch it in my car, he would be much faster.

Seen it 10 times now......

Extremely impressive...especially for what looked to be a very "stock" looking 964T.

Great vid. Those big steering inputs at speed do look scary. I gotta make it there one day.

Funny you ask - the photo was taken immediately after a zymol treatment but i've also slightly played with it in photoshop, although shouldnt have affected the gloss.

In the beginning of the video while still showing an exterior view, the car goes around what looks to be about a 180 degree left turn with a bank. Mid-way through the turn, as the boost starts to come back in, I think I see a quick flame exit from the wastegate side of the exhaust. Other than a flame coming out of the exhaust side on lift off, I have not seen this before. Are my eyes deceiving me? If not, what causes this?
