Default EFI Driving impressions

Well it came home on a shiney FedEx truck earlier this week, and as it turned out, I had to be out of town on business. Punishing. I took her out this evening with a friend in for the Road Atlanta weekend, and all I can say is wow. Anyone even considering this work should simply pull the trigger.
Now some may say this is a commercial, so be it, IA deserves a bit more press. The car has been completely transformed in a way I was not expecting. Its smooth, has much more low end grunt, and the power delivery is butter smooth. It has a little bit of a kick I guess, but more than anything its just "on" over 3,000 RPM, period. I drove it home Monday night from the drop off, and all I could tell Stephen was that I needed better headlights, it was simply too fast for what I could see. After the first WOT blast this evening with my buddy, all he could say was " you need those Lexus headlights that stick to the road". It pulls so hard, it squats all the way through 4th gear. It pulled as hard at 140 as it did at 50mph. 3rd gear is insane, but so smooth you almost think its a NA car, except your gaining velocity at a rate thats hard to believe. The speedo moves like a tach, no kidding. Fit and finish are outstanding, everything powder coated and looking perfect. Not sure what else to say, I can't take the grin off my face. Priceless.

PICS! Build specs would be nice for those that may go this route in the future.

Very cool to read your impressions. Sounds like a blast to drive.

How long did the whole project take?

Any weekend you want Jerry. I am always around, kids have baseball and soccer etc. I live in the Chastain Park area.

60-130 is simply 3rd gear, and it seems like it happens in a just a few seconds. The intake in the wheel well sounds like its going to suck the rear quarter right thru the filter above 5k, when the cams take over.

Congrats Phil; your patience seems to have paid off. I can't even Imagine 200 more HP at the track; and it sounds like you are planning to take the car there. All I can say is; bring lots of tires

You're only temporarily right about the power......you'd soon get used to it and start craving for more once "insane" begins to feel "normal"

You're wrong on the car feeling almost like NA.....it is perkier than my previous NA 964 with headers/straight through exhaust/RUF chip EVEN in preboost rpm range....this is owning the 2 cars back to back so memories are fresh.

BTW I have the IA HFS with autronics but put together here in Thailand and flew in tuner from Singapore.

Congratulations & Enjoy!
