Everyone is gripping about Ray raising prices with no nice cars to choose from at a reasonable price and the nice cars are all being passed on only to be sold by Ray at a higher price.
I am curious what he paid because i doubt very much he is only marking it up $1600.00

Motor Car Invenstments (www.motorcarinvestments.com) in Raleigh has a white one with 40K showing. I believe he is asking $59K. I don't know anything about it and have no vested interest in this company. I'll be glad to stop by and take photos or check specifics in anyone is interested.

It's black/tan. I'm sending the seats out to Heritage Trim for new leather and sport seat conversion. Will replace tan carpet with black (I like tan leather but not carpets, see pic below), and will send the car out for full EFI conversion, garrett ball bearing turbo, IC, and carrera intake. Will post pics when I get the car sorted out.
I'm pretty excited.
Does anyone know if the rear seat delete kit that's available for the 930 is available for the 964? I haven't seen one, but the ones available for the 930 appear to be pretty clean.

Contrats!!. Sounds like you're not going to be BSing around with the mods. Is this Fred's 3.6 from Vegas?
As far as the rear seat delete, the RSA and the America Roadster had that option. You should be able to find or order it.
Can't wait to see the progress on your Turbo. Contrats again!

I would leave the seats the way they are, from that picture they look in great condition. Sometimes the sport seats can be a little too "sport". Looks like it came with the supple leather option like mine. They are super comfortable and good for long hauls. The one option that I had on my 997S that I wish I had'nt chosen were the Sport Adaptive seats, man they were uncomfortable. Just my opinion

Congrats half the fun is over now the real fun begins.
I agree i don't mind tan seats but not big on the carpeting. I have 2 cars with tan interior and I am gradually changing them to black.
Is this a 3.3 or 3.6 you purchased?

I drove a 997 S the other day with these seats and they didn't feel that bad to me but the owner complained about the same thing. To be honest other than the responsiveness of the engine the 997S feels very much like my 928 GTS with a short nose.

SA Mike, the picture above is not of my car. That pic was lifted off ebay to show the black carpet I'd like to install. Since I'm having the seats redone with fresh leather, I thought the sport option would be cool; I liked the adaptives in my 997S and I did like the sport seats in my GT3, so I think I'll like the sport seats in the 995.
Ray, Definitely not messing around with mods. I want a stock look but with the added drivabilty and punch of updated turbo mechanicals. It's Fred's 3.6. This car was originally L8Apex's car from 6 speed. I don't know a lot about its history, but know the motor was running terribly when Fred got it (vacuum and oil leaks), but has been completely gone through. I finally decided that I'd bite the bullet and get a 3.6. Apples to apples comparo, I think there's a 20k difference b/t the 3.3 and 3.6. But, I wanted a driver not a concour queen, b/c of my intent to mod it and drive it w/o the attendant mileage guilt. Been there done that on the Fcar and it was annoying.
For now I'll probably not do anything with paint and live with the stonechips. If the car becomes a long term keeper, I'd love to have a full blown, concours quality respray.

I think it depends on the size of the person as far as the seats. I tried widening out the bolsters on the bottom and top and they still were too tight, then switched from Bud Light to Michelob Ultra and cut down on the Twinkie intake and that did help....a little. I found the performance of my 07 S to be very satisfying, for it being a non turbo it had good pull. Like I've said before a lot of people didn't/don't give the car the repect it deserves. It seemed like everyone wanted to compare it to the new Z06 and of course didn't have quite the power. Still it was a great car. I miss all my past cars.... with of course the exception of my 88 Nissan Maxima (140,000 miles, oxidizing paint, etc...) right after high school.

So if I read you right you purchased L8Apex's car. Nice car to work with and it already had extensive work done. You should be very happy and a smart one to buy and do what you want with. I believe he had some things done already like the Andial enrichment and a larger Andial IC, if you decide to change out these parts with the EFI conversion let me know.

I'm right up there with you. I would have an extra 10 hp out of my car if I went on the driver improvement program. The 964 sport seats only have a high side bolster with the same bottle shaped seat. So it is not quite the same as the newer seats. I replaced my seats with the Recaro Sportster CS's so I could have a little more support for spirited driving and still retain the comfort level. I actually find them more comfortable than any of the factory seats available. I like the hard back GT3 seats for track use.
I agree, wish I could have kept all my past Porsche's. Hey the Z06 is a great piece of machinery not bad looking either, but like all vettes they don't excite me like the 965. If it were just about speed there are many cars out there that are faster but the 965 goes far beyond stimulating all the senses something I never get tired of.
