Default Injector and Fuel System

964 Turbo Heads,

What is the protocol for cleaning our injectors and fuel system? When should it be done? How do you go about cleaning the system?

I'm signing up for this as I would like to know as well. Good post. I had searched this in the past but didn't find much.

You can run three bottle of Techron Chevron to start. One with the next three tanks of gas. Or you can pull the injectors and send them out to be cleaned and tested. I also can do it. You could buy the tool but it is about 500.00 for a injector tester.

Fairly easy. You need a stubby set wrenches. A 14 and a 17 and you just break the head loose from the line and spin the injector out.

This must me some kind of time warp; I am sending parts to Kansas and not receiving them. I think it will confuse the shipping companies

Also, what is the best/most cost effective practice?

1. Test the injectors and replace any out of spec ones
2. Try to gather up a couple sets of used ones and test them all to get the best matched 6

If #2, does anyone have any laying around?

Lastly, who has the best prices on new ones? Is there a Bosch part number or a cross reference to another vehicle?

Is Techron Chevron available in UK, or do we have a different brand?

You probably are very aware of this but since this was posted in the 964 Turbo not 993 Turbo forum thought I'd just make sure - but the 993TT injector will be very different from the 964T injector as the 993 has Motronic EFI whereas our cars still had [already ancient even way back in 1991] CIS.

I've used Techron on both types of injectors with good results.
