Intro Post (w/ pics of course!) Wordy-warning.
This is my third 911, preceded by an '89 3.2 Carrera coupe in Baltic blue with front and rear spoilers, and a '71t coupe with deep 6s and 5spd and a recent Arena red spray.
My last project car was an '01.5 Audi S4 that I did an APR Stg3 (bigger turbos, fueling, etc), 18" BBS RCs, Bilstein PSS9s and a lot of other expensive stuff. I got quite involved in the tuning scene with that car, creating, developing and marketing a performance intake (google X-1 Intake) that buried me in supplier problems. Audiworld.com has a HUGE number of very knowledgable and experienced independent tuners! I learned an incredible amount discussing turbocharging technology with the best Audi tuners in the US during my development on the intake.
But no matter how fast I made that car, it just wasn't a Porsche. I'm just giddy I finally have the Porsche I've always wanted. The 965 has just enough contemporary refinement to not feel dated, and just enough attitude to still feel (and sound and smell) like a proper 911.
I'll get some proper glam shots soon, forgive the messy garage.
The car: '92 965, 86k on the clock, Satin Black Metallic L729 (actually an '89 Anniversary color). B&B full exhaust, 1-bar, H&R springs, Kinesis K5s, splitters and lightweight tail, sport steering wheel, some nice interior goodies. The previous owner saved my marriage by doing these mods. I've no interest in keeping the car "pure" and stock, just nice and pretty. I give the CIS a year before I've EFI'd this car!
Cheers all!

Can't wait to share mine.
I like the rear wing. I believe it is actually the lightweight turbo variant from 91-92. There are pics of a yellow one if you do a search. The 3.8 rs wing is a bi-plane monster.
Welcome.

Most of what the car is I owe to the very cool previous owner. He had the K5s color matched, which meant disassembly... I can hear the tech-weenies cringing! I s'pose I should check the assembly torque, but they've had a few miles since then, and the PO wasn't afraid to drop the coin$ for such details.
I've since lowered slightly (25.5" all around) and corner-balanced the car (friend with Longacres = friend indeed).
I subjected the car to a comprehensive PPI at Kahler's, a well-regarded local independent. It has the obligatory minor issues; the fuel and hydraulic accumulators are both dodgy. Power steering pump leaks, main seal, rack boots, minor case leak. They gave the motor a big
I've since added a proper boost gauge...
...and I'm in the process of installing the AFX wideband for short-term peace of mind and long-term tuning efforts.
Yeah it's fast. Definitely a very different "fast" than my S4. Faster? It's tough to compare as the S4 had no lag, precision fueling, and GOBS of torque through a Torsen AWD. I cannot figure out how to launch the Porsche yet as I either bog it or light up the tires. I'll do a freeway pull sometime with the Audi's new owner, I am curious.
Thanks for the warm welcomes, I will definitely be sharing with you the goods/bads/uglies of my tuning and maintenance endeavors!

I saw the car in Pelican's classifieds since the beginning of the year and realized he'd done what I'd just end up spending marital-dispute $$$ on, like the B&B and Kinesis. I did the numbers in my head (no written record to self-incriminate) on how much I spent just on parts on the Audi (I did all the work myself), truly sobering.
I love how guys complain how hard it is to work on the turbo motors. We had to drop the Audi motor to change the turbos. I did an S4 timing belt last week, had to pull off the whole front end. I pulled my IC last week and felt like I could jump in there and take a nap!

Welcome, cool colour combo!
I want those wheels....
Tell us more about the lightweight rear wing...
Can we see a close up of that boost gauge?
... and as for quick lauching the 965 (assuming you still have the heavy dual mass) the only way is to rev it to 6K, slide the clutch in and go. Didn't get any loss of traction, but don't do it too often!!
