Did you ever paint your rocker's the same color as the car? I am going to paint mine in the fall again, most likely flat black.
My Turbo has the lower rockers painted black and the C2 matches the paint on the car. I am torn because I like it both ways. I think for the turbo the black works best against the Cobalt. For your car I would think either would look terrific. One advantage of the black is that you can easily respray it yourself if needed.

Personally, I enjoy it. I use 3M Hand Glaze, Mequires #7, followed by Mequires #26 Carnuba. I remove with three separate microfiber towels for each step. After I get back from driving the car I clean the car with Mequires Quick detail and a micro fiber towel. I never use circular motions with the application or the removal, always in the direction the wind flows. I have found this really helps both eliminate and prevent swirl marks.

It's a lot of work keeping the car looking good as there is no hiding with black, however, when it's cleaned properly it really looks great!
Nice tip, always looking for info about keeping black cars nice. I love them but had moved away from them for obvious reasons. I am now about to have one black and one midnight blue so am collecting techniques and saved yours for a try. LOL, I must have 20 kinds of wax and finish products!

I spoke with an honest paint shop that does work for porsche, ferarri, and bentley, and they said they could make it look great, but could not duplicate the paint the car came with, period. That beind said, if the elbow grease does not do it, I would repaint the car in a heartbeat. These cars deserve to look good, and we should feel good about the cars.

how about some pics, sounds beautiful

Fred, You know you kill me!! Keep them all

Great thread, minus ego input. Loved all the tech info about finishes etc.

Anthony, thanks for the info. I always appreciate your attention to detail and depth of knowledge. Lots of bs on car boards, but I find your posts informative and well thought out.
btw, my email crashed so send me an email after you get the check, eh?
