Default Kick panel heater hose replacement options/insulating cabin

I have been tracking a footwell heat issue. Got the vents adjusted which helped but it still was getting warm.

I took the kickpanel cover off and found a hole in the outer casing of the heater hose there. Also the hose was HOT to the touch.

Has anyone replaced these with something that is more efficient at keeping the heat IN? Or added some additional heat shielding?

Also, has anyone thought of some kind of valve/butterfly (either auto or manual) that could be added in the heater hose line adjusted to keep the heat from even getting up to that area?

Thanks.

RT

Or just get headers sans heat option.

Ok talked to Stephen at IA.

Looks like some of the valves are not working properly for one reason or another that allow hot air to be dumped in the back of the car just like I described.

I guess header with heat is a-ok!

Thanks Stephen!!

I replaced my left side flap located in the rear fender. Before the repair, every time you shut the door you would here a rattle. My problem was no heat on the left side of the car.

How do you get to the flap? Do you have to remove the fender liner?

THX.
