Hi all
As some of you spend regular time over on the 964 board you'll have seen that I've switched to the dark (and wide) side and chopped m 964C2 in for a 3.3turbo. So I thought I'd say a proper hello on this board too. I've been hunting for a turbo for 6 months and finally have my prey! I'm not an expert on the turbo by any means but here are some details that I do know...it's not quite standard. As you can see in the photos it's got 18inch alloys which are 3.6turbo replicas I think. They look lovely in any case. It's also got a bit of extra power in the form of a 1bar spring (does this sound right?). Also, the exhaust has been updated with the secondary muffler replaced by a g-pipe. I'm not actually sure what the turbo exhaust system should look like because to be fair I can't see any other mufflers - it's damn loud and pops and bangs even when pootling at 10mph! It's also got a cone induction kit which sounds great. It whistles, bangs and grumbles - lovely! It's so different to my old 964. It seems huge and is pretty intimidating at the moment - cos it's LHD I'm getting used to everything being opposite which also makes it not very relaxing! It sure is making me smile though. When I was leaving work today I was giggling to myself with the thought of what was in the car park waiting for me
. Think I'll take the Fiesta to work tomorrow to give myself a rest and build up the excitement all over again!
I'm looking forward to being on both the 964 and turbo boards from now on without feeling an imposter!

hi
welcome mate!..great looking car,,seen it for sale last week(looking for a lhd 911 for mate who has moved to france),i have the same car although a 1992 in midnight blue..i am rebuilding my engine just now because of broken head studs....just in case with your car i would rig up an external boost gauge and make sure its not boosting above 1 bar(boost springs arent always 100% accurate in my opinion),,you cant go by your digital in dash gauge as this is preset only to read 0.7 bar,,also i would disconnect the lambda sensor in the engine compartment and check your fuellin on a co2 machine/mot station and make sure its sitting about 3%,,easy to check and adjust!!,,Just what i would do after my experiances with a new purchase for peace of mind,,,then,if all ok just enjoy driving the beast!!

In terms of the banging and popping I think that it does have the cat-bypass; it pops like mad even when pootling about in 1st gear in the car park! Nice...
