69cou,
drop me an email with your own email address, so I can add you to our southern UK list. A few of us Rennlisters get together for some of the PCGB and Pistonheads meets. You'd be very welcome.

Currently running our 3.3T on factory setup. However 18 inch speedlines have been fitted to the car making it sit even higher. Would like to get it lowered to at least 3.6 factory specs. Any idea how much I would need to take out of the suspension, 30mm?

Dodgy, my understanding is the 3.6 is 20mm lower (and stiffer) than 3.3 standard. But someone else will be along soon to confirm.

James, will do. Are you coming to the Sunday meet at Cornbury House, 3 of us 965's so far....

For information:

3.6 Turbo US => ride height same as 3.3 Turbo
3.6 Turbo ROW => ride height 20 mm lower as 3.3 Turbo

Back to the suspension:
Having driven for a couple of weeks and few hundred miles, I can say the suspension has transformed the car. The standard suspension was way too high and crap compared. Gone is the nervousness at high speed. Strangely the tramlining is actually less with the lower suspension and not worse as you would expect. As you know mine is the bilstein setup although not sure how Gemballa have tweaked it. They won't reply to my emails unless I pay them £1000's.... ;-)

So any of you 3.3's (can't comment on 3.6) on standard suspension, go sports suspension as soon as you can afford it. Its amazing!

I picked up my H&R's off eBay for $275 US, and got my Bilstein's from Shox for $680 here's the link: http://www.shox.com/appguide/shoxsho...ctsdisplay.php make sure you specify turbo... They also have H&R progressives for $369; for little over $1k US you can have a good sports suspension. (I am not affiliated with them in any way.)

For UK owners, Type-911 do a Bilstein sports suspension kit with H&R springs for about £800 all in - it's not the adjustable PSS9 Bilstein kit, just their normal uprated sports version - but it's still a good package price, imo.

I agree. It is always the first thing I suggest to a new 964 turbo owner to do before anything else. Best money you can spend. To add to your comment I also found I spun my rear tires less and the back end became much more stable.

Now the fun really begins.

I like the suspension on mine, although over expansion joints etc. it can be a little teeth rattling.
