Default 1992 964 Turbo from NY

Does anybody know this car? 1992 964 Turbo with about 33,000 miles on it. 18 inch HRE wheels, Bilstien suspension, twin plugged with an Electromotive Ignition system, B&B Exhaust.

I have recently purchased it and am looking to get the history or at least as much of it as possible. Its running very rich, and I would like to know what kind of engine work other than the obvious has been done.

I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill, when I was looking at it before you got it, I talked to the saleman there and he said he sold it to someone in New Jersey who frequently buys exotic cars from them. He said this guy had it for a few months and then wanted something more tame. So the dealer went to NJ to buy it back as they knew they could move it considering it's great condition. I'm surprised the dealer does not have more history on it. I believe another rennlister looked at it at the same time and said there was just a minor oil drip but everything else checked out.

Don,

Do you remember the dealership that had it? I didn't get it from the same dealership that had it listed on the East Coast, and if I could call and talk to the same sales guy you did. that would be really beneficial.

Thanks!

Bill, the dealer was Performance Auto @ 631-366-0900 with email: cars@performanceautoltd.com

I don't remember the sales guy I talked to but I'm sure someone will remember if you give them the vin. I believe the car was listed around jan 2006. Good luck.

Great. Hope you get a nice melt down early this spring so you can get your hot turbo on the road. Don

Nice car but those wheels look a bit hot-roddy to me.

I agree Jerry. They are polished 18 inch HRE 545's, but my wife really likes them, soooo.....

I wonder how a set of the 17 inch Lindsey Fuch's would look on a 964 turbo, smile.

Jerry, you got to be kidding. Those wheels look great on a guards red turbo and cost about $5000 new. I'll be happy to trade my 18 " antera's for them if Bill was interested. I suppose the "in" look now a days seem to be powder coated black which I would not do for any reason. I think that combination looks "hot roddy", might be okay for a track car. Don't know what Lindsay ****s look like.

I was not keen on the wheels on my 930 when I saw pictures of the car. However upon seeing the car in the flesh my opinion changed, they look great.
Pics of the actual wheels don't look that great either. Of course, this all just my opinion.

My rims are polished, silver painted centres.

I think the same could be for Bills car.

Yeah, in person the wheels do look a lot better, and they do a very good job filling out the wheel wells. It has 285's on the back, and to be honest I can't remember what size the fronts are. I do know that before we started getting hammerd with snow the summer tires would break loose in 2nd and 3rd when the boost kicks in.

Changing wheels isn't an option right now, and since my wife does like them, I think I'll stick with them.

Here are some of the Lindsey 17 inch Fuch's on BBII (hope Jack doesn't mind me posting this picture...).

The wheels are interesting but on that car, they are superb. I think I've seen this car in an ad in panorama before, not sure but looks the same. What year is this beauty, somewhere in the 70's. Doesn't look like a 80's 930.
