I guess you can try it, but I heard that it is infact the gauge (tachometer) that is the problem and not the sender.

I think it is possible, because the display is able to show more than 0.7 (you think in the funcion kilometers (parcial), that it can show 0.8 km, 0.9 km, 1 km, 1.1 km... etc) so I think it is possible. The problem ( I think) is the data sensor, that only can read until 0.7 bars (In fact, if you take off this valve, you can read in small letters 0.7 bar in a side).

would be very smart if the old 0.7-problem could be solved this way.

anyhow, i also have a doubt. according to the workshop manual the turbo controller cuts off ground to the fuel pumps if pressure exceeds 1.1.....1.4 bar, this is to avoid overboost. if so, the sensor should be able to deliver signals up to 1.5 bar.

I think the overboost sensor is a different part, it is on the 930 anyway.

seems to be right, one is a" boost pressure transmitter", the other a " boost pressure switch", both mounted at the intercooler.

It´s right. There are two differents valves. One valve is the boost pressure switch (able only until 0.7 bar), and the other valve is the one thats cut off fuel if pressure exceeds 1.1-1.4 bar (in fact, if you dismantle this little valve, you can read in small letters 1.1-1.4 bar too, like the other valve).

Yes, I did the experiment, and I had no results. It is the same fix a 930 sender or a 965 sender (in fact, it is the same sender).

The only solution is to fix a boost gauge. You have to install the tube across the car (via central-tunnel) to the rear. With this solution you will see 1 bar or whatever you boost in your car wiht out problems.

I wonder if it's just the digital display only programmed to display max of 0.7, no matter what the pressure? It would seem silly to do it, considering it can clearly show more digits than that.

Has anyone succeeded in making the stock gauge show more then 0,7 bar yet?
I also searched a lot but couldnt find any solution. I decided to go with an aftermarket boost gauge.

Over a year ago i had a post about this with not much success,at first had also thought about going down the 930 sendor route until i just purchased the zeitronix which covers all,afr,boost,egt,data logging etc.
think some of the rarer models e.g "s" version shows 0.8 bar so it does go above 0.7 but to be honest the gauge is slow to react etc so probably best an accurate aftermarket one is best

The gauge will not show higher than 0.7bar. It is not the sender that is the problem but the gauge.

IIRC even the S only shows 0.7bar
