I'm old enough to remember the wild colors of the 60's on Porsches and BMWs. This one would fit right in - But I like it!

I think those colors are totally cool and so unique. Yes, black and silver are nice, but how often do you see a signal green 964T?? Not for everyone I agree, but certainly an interesting twist on an already rare car.

As someone boring enough to have owned 3 black 911's in a row, personally I think this (bright) green would look great on the old pre-bumper 911's. I think the equivalent bright blue (maritime [RS] blue) is better on later cars and more "manly" -(sorry girls!).

That said, it's all personal taste and I wouldn't criticise someone who bought it :-)

PS: What do we think of those 964 RS's that came in 'pink'? Girly or just brash?

Pink ?
tut tut

The 964 3.8RS blue is beautiful, but hey I like that wimbledon green too, just wouldn't have a green car, supposed to be unlucky.

There was a car in wimble green in the UK that was hard to sell and was a bargain, except it was out of my price range.

why is the black 965 on that website cheaper, with less miles and arguably a higher demand color (especially with that red seat piping- beautiful) The Green looks nice, but I think I'd rather not have it for my car...and certainly not for more money than a "more typical" color with lower miles.

I'm not one of those who only likes black porsches- far from it (I only have black because the right car for me happened to be that color), but as much as I like the signal green car, I just couldn't see myself buying it and wonder if many others would feel the same way (i.e. like the color, but wouldn't want it themselves, if that makes sense)

To start, this is not the same car as the one I was talking about. That car was a bit darker.

Andrew,

I was told that almost half of these cars came into the country in Black with some variations on interior. Another 25-30% were either red, white or silver.

I have found with most of these cars with lower miles and one off colors sell to people who want to collect unique cars. Many times a car with more miles will sell for more than a car with less miles just because of color. So although many of us would not consider this car it will find a home to someone who does not want a standard color. Besides if you really like the color you have little choice but to pay up for it since it is most likely 1 of 1.

I know I have been offered more than standard rate for my car because of the unique color and the other one in Cobalt with light gray interior sold for over $70k about 2 years back. I am sure it would fetch more now.

Now that most of these cars have traded hands in the past 2-3 years and those that paid up for them are not willing to part with them, we are seeing an increase in pricing for good examples and unique colors topping the list.

Not my first choice but definitely unique.

Are you speaking of all 965's or just the 3.6?

I figured we were talking about a 3.6 so i just continued on. I know little about colors and info on the 91's and some info on the 92's.

Anthony- I will quickly say- I met you and saw your car in person a couple of years ago at a 6-speedonline car show....I'd be willing to pay a premium for your color car- it looks great & I love several shades of blue on cars.

Getting back on the topic of the thread (sorry about that ), you're probably right that someone will want this car for its uniqueness, but I question if it will get more than or even as much as market price due to it's debatable color (of course this is only my opinion). For some reason while it will take a special collector to buy this color and I personally wouldn't want it, I'm glad the car was made and would love to see the car in person or even on the road- it looks like a "fun" color if that makes sense, just not a color I'd choose to have a 3.6 turbo in...maybe a VW bug, but not a supercar with the serious look of a wide-body 911. Ironically, I see many Lambos this color and also Lotus. This color must be a cop magnet!

I hope someone in NJ buys it so I can see it at one of the shows !
