Nathan,
I was asking Rennbod. I've read a few times that people remove Lamdas on 965's, but its usually not necessary, may not be legal (emmissions) or can even cause problems- or so my mechanic says.

At the moment, the lambda is disconnected...

On the one hand, it would be nice to have it connected, so in cruise conditions the mixture will be ideal for lean burning and fuel ecconomy.

On the other hand, I want to make absolutely sure that the lambda sensor does not cause the mixture when on boost to lean out.

The other consideration, is that the lambda sensor, during cruise, will cause hotter combustion that the non lambda rich mixture... which may make the valve run hotter, so when you do get on the boost, that the combustion chamber is more likely to detonate.

So whats everyone elses advice? Keep the lambda, or ditch it?

I would leave the 02 sensor connected after your mixture adjustment is done.
It has no effect when on boost but the car will run better at light loads.

I have dynoed both ways so I know this to be true before I went to EFI.

I run with mine unplugged and after the car is warm there aren't any noticeable idle issues.

I think leaving it unplugged will only improve part throttle, no boost performance. Usually if I'm doing 25 mph in my subdivision there is some surging as the lambda computer over/undershoots the chamber pressure as it tries to keep the mixture at 14.7/1. Running open loop will cure that.
The WUR recieves a signal (vacuum at part throttle, pressure at boost) that will influence enrichment. High boost will yied full enrichment so the only way to change fuel delivery is to alter the WUR or fuel head.
