JrossRSA,
My mechanic looked at it and did the ppi. He had done many cars at Rays for people and as you indicated his reputation is the key to his success. He does to much business to let a lemon ruin his reputation. He is not your typical dealer he only deals in quality. If you need the name and contact info of my mechanic let me know if you plan on a PPI on one of Rays cars.

oscar94 he is fair and a little flexiable but unfourtunatly when the cars he has are as rare a commodity, you dont have as much lattitude. If you dont buy someone else will.

I had a bad experience with Ray Joseph. I purchased a 97 C4S from him. Ray swore that the car had no body or paint work. I had a PPI done by the local dealer Ray took the car to. After I took delivery in Seattle, I took it to three body shops. They all confirmed that the car had paint work. The engine was fine and the car drove nice. I paid top dollar and took a $13,000 hit when I sold the car. Be very careful with Ray Joseph and RPM.

The Following is Ray Joseph's resonse:
Hi- I appreciate you forwarding this to me. I sold this guy a car over 5 years ago. He was sold a 97 C4S that had the front bumper cover refinished due to stone chips etc. He was told this before purchase. The car had not been damaged previously. I heard nothing from him for over 9 months and 3,000 miles of driving. He even sent a bottle of whiskey to the dealership mechanic that did the PPI as he was so pleased. 9 months later he calls out of the blue saying his car had been re-painted or damaged which was not true. He had apparently had enough Porsche fun and when he saw that he might lose money when selling his car he was not pleased. I reminded him that he was told before hand that the bumper was refinished and he of course had complete amnesia of that fact. I offered to send him $500 to refinish the bumper cover yet again (I'm sure that in the 9 months and 3K miles of driving he messed it up himself as it was his first Porsche and even experienced Porsche drivers scrape their spoilers etc), he accepted the $500 and I thought that was the end of it. But no, after he accepts the $500 he then bad mouths me on Rennlist, writes a letter to the Texas Attorney General and to the BBB. We responded to the complaint with both authorities with our side of the story and they both immediately closed their files. It goes to show you that when you deal with the public, no matter how good a job you do, you can only hope to please 99.9% of your clients, because no matter what, you will get a nightmare customer at some point in time. I am at the same phone number for 23 years and have enjoyed a great reputation I believe during this time because we are honest and deliver the highest quality. So as usual, two sides to every story. My reputation speaks for itself. I don't post on Rennlist. You are welcome to share this with anyone you like. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention. Regards Ray Joseph
