I have one I would give you if you paid for shipping. Although they are not very expensive and you probably can buy one there including shipping cheaper than it would cost to ship from here. I think I paid something like $45 for my 1.0 bar spring.

Mind if I ask why you are looking for the 0.7 bar spring? What are you using now?

You want to use a low pressure spring when using a Electronic Boost Controller. This way when the solenoid releases, the WG opens fast.

Btw, stock boost on the '94 was .9 bar

Colin,

I am now really confused, I have a 94 and I only get max .7 bar on my OBC....is this attributable to the spring or the pressure sensor?

I have a 1 Bar boost spring now and yes im going to do a manual boost controller so you can only increase boost with it - the stock '94 does only have .7 bar spring - i think on the turbo s they uprated the boost.

Because the gauge only goes to 0.7 bar in all 964 turbos. Simple case of the factory being cheap when they came out with the '94. Didn't want to spend the $s on a special part just for the one year.

There are several threads on this board that talk about this. Stock boost '91-'92 was 0.7 bar. Stock in '94 was 0.85 bar. Not sure if the S was even higher.

Collin is correct that the 94's are between .80-.85 bar springs and even with a 1.0 bar spring the stock gage will only read a max of .7 bar. I believe the 993 tach will read up to .8 bar and can be fitted to a 94 but it isn't worth the $500 or so to replace it. Even the S's only read up to .7 bar with a .9 bar spring.

Do a search there are several threads on it.

Miles,

Why not go with an electronic boost control and use the 1.0 bar spring and retard it.

yes the 993 guage goes upto .8 - i have a set in mine.

Well i didnt know about the .85 bar spring in the '94 in that case probably wont be worth the hassle chagning the spring. I thought boost controllers can only increase boost as they fool the wastgate not to open until the contoller says so but this can only be greater than the spring installed no? Also i read you get a better spoil up with the turbo because of this method - the wastegate doesnt creep open.

I have a video of Tiff Needel test driving a beautiful light green(not sure what they call that colour) 3.6 964 turbo and he says that the turbo 3.6 comes from the factory with a 0.9 bar of boost pressure. Even my mechanics from Ruf have the same to say. The turbo 3.6 comes from factory at 0.9 bar of boost although you do not get that reading on the gauge.

Sameer,

I posted this before and it is verbatum from the TSB and reads the same pressures in the manual for the Turbo 3.6:

TSB. Number 9032 9307.

Reads:

Concern: The boost gauge in 1994 911 Turbos will only read 0.7 bar at max boost

General Information The boost pressure for 1994 3.6 liter 911 turbos is .79 to .85 bar. 1994 911 Turbos are equipped with a boost gauge that is only capable of registering 0.7 bar. For technical reasons, the software for the boost pressure gauge was taken from the 3.3 liter 911 Turbo.

Should a 1994 3.6 Liter 911 Turbo have a customer complaint or "car will only reach 0.7 bar boost," the complaint must be verified and boost pressure must be checked before repairs are performed.

If boost pressure is within specifications, no repairs are necessary.

Repair Information: 1994 3.6 Liter Turbo Max boost 0.79 to 0.85 bar 1992 3.3 Liter Turbo Max boost 0.75 to 0.81 bar

Damage code 903210 0002

Miles regarding the controlers I believe Staffan knows more about this than just about anyone here. I am pretty sure they can only open the pressure up to the maximum setting of the spring and cannot go beyong that. The controller allows you to cut back on the pressure instead of increasing it. I may have it backwards so You might want to PM Staffan for more inf regarding this.
