Default RUF Yellow Bird Lives!

When you can, grab the latest issue of Road & Track (September '05). The cover is the "flying mile" competition. Besides wringing-out the latest supercars, they throw-in the famed '87(?) RUF Yellow Bird for contrast. You'll enjoy Steve Millen's thoughts after he runs that car WFO (now with 60,000 miles) from zero to 5,280 feet.

Yes, thanks Bob. I had the '87 issue with the Yellowbird in it but somehow lost it through the years. I'll definitely pick this one up.

This yellowbird (#1) which is currently owned by Alois Ruf is going to be at the Camarillo, CA airport this weekend. Alois is storing it at a friends house in Santa Barbara who has agreed to bring it to the Porsche breakfast on Saturday-9:00 a.m.

My very good friend got a 3 hour ride in it several weeks ago and did a write up which is posted on the Pelican board.

I'm dying to see it.

Yeah, I saw the car in Ventura a couple of weeks ago. I wish I could get over to Santa Barbara on Saturday to have another look, but I have to be at the 14th Annual NHRA Hot Rod Reunion at FAMOSO Raceway in beautiful Bakersfield, CA .
