Default My Babys got new shoes!

After the suspension work last year wheels were next on the list. I have been looking for what rims work with the car but also looking for something different. Well I came across the 18" Porsche Sport design and they were the ones for me. I will post some pictures in better light tomorrow.

What sizes are you using? 18 x 8 and 18 X 10?

They are 2 piece Sport Design by Porsche. 2001 and newer 996 have them as a $4500 option. They are 27 lbs. Frt. 29 lbs and Offsets are 52mm frt. and 65mm rear. No spacers required the offsets are 4mm different than those of the 964. Clearence is good and work well with the HD Bilstirns and H&R coil over set up at European ride height. I will get more photo's today.

Maverick,
With 10 inch rims at the rear, you can go 285. Just my opinion but I feel 265 are a little too thin for the rears especially on the 964 turbo. I have 285 rears on my 10inch rears.

Do 285s fit better on 10 or 10.5s?

They seem to fit perfectly fine on my 10 inch. However its the max I can go on 10 inch and the max I would go with my current setup. If I had wider rims, I might have gone 295 to cope with my power but nothing more.

The section width of the 265 vs the 285 is 10.4 vs 11.2. so on a 10 inch rim you will have just under an inch more width with the 285's. I am not sure how you determine how much is to much and what the wear and ride issues would be. If you are running 285-35-18's then your section height (sidewall height) is 3.92 vs mine at 3.64.
The main difference have noticed(only done 50 miles on them) is the steering feedback is so much lighter. The rims I had on her before were Turbo 2 replicas so quite a bit heavier than the OEM 18's.

Maverick,
I'm sorry I dont get you. Your saying with 10inch rims and 285, we have under an inch more of width left on the rim? Meaning we can go fatter tyres?

No, your tires are @1" wider than mine and have a taller side wall.

Wheels look terrific and seem to show up well against that redder than red 964. Best of luck with them.
