While I will soon receive a written report on a C2 Turbo, verbal discussions with a shop have noted the following items - Any thoughts are much appreciated?

C/L test noted there was less than 5% leakage in each cylinder. How does this sound?

Also the shop noted oil leakage around a valve cover gasket - shop has indicated that this item has been repaired................


Any thoughts are much appreciated..........I will let you know more when I learn more and when I view the report.

It would be interesting to know in what way the valve cover has been repaired and also hear their theory on the cause to this damage.

Basically, you don't repair a valve cover, you get a new one, they are not that expensive.
About the oil leak around the valve cover, it's usually really hard to tell from where an oil leak is originating.

one pager reads:

cylinder leak down test results less than 5% per cylinder
1 valve cover gasket set - 3.2 Technician labor hours
reconnect & reroute induction to Fuel distributor loose & crossthreaded/adj. valves - 4.5 labor hours

Less than 5% is very good.

Now if they adjusted the valves, all the valve cover gaskets should have been replaced.

Sounds like a pretty positive PPI overall
