Wastgate ?

Big ? the tube on top of the wastgate gets screwed into top of gate and goes into engine comp but its hooked to nothing is this right it just goes in and hooks down thats it.

Yep, that's correct. The only reason it goes into the engine compartment is to help keep dirt out of it.
