Default Dash Warning lights

When looking at this 91 Turbo today, I noticed the left most warning light of the oil level/pressure guage did not light up when the key was auxillary (when all the other lights were on).

Take a look a the pic....

Does anyone know what this light is an indicator for? Is this a "blank" light for an option the car may not have, or should it light up?

Shawn,
Why not call your local Porsche dealer or even better print it out and bring it over to your dealer and have them comment on it.I personally think it could be as simple as may be a bad fuse/ bad sensor or something like that.Any way i hope it works out for ya

It is the check engine light. Mine doesn't come on when the key is turned either. Unless there is a fault I don't believe it should come on. According to to Adrians book it was installed in 1991 USA models only to comply with California and Japan emission requirements.
