Miles, can you please do me a favor and change the avatar?

Thanks for the kind words, FWIW, Miles is a great (big) guy, and he has been extremely patient in dealing with the complexities of getting anything done in this part of the world, moreover, before being able to ship his car, the "switch unit" part # 965 602 706 02 dies in it, so the car is immobilized. We are trying to get one to replace the old unit, so if any of you knows of a good source please let us know!

The car is a real pleasure to drive. The K29 turbo BTW is a hybrid, full boost comes in around 4000 RPM if I recall correctly.

I know this is going away from the main thread but i drove a new neighbours 1991 964 3.3 turbo which is standard with the exception of a new sports exhaust at the weekend.

The comparison in turbo delivery between his 3.3 std turbo and my 3.6 with a K29 is vast. I know some of this will be the difference in engine size but the 3.3 was a more smooth delivery from around 3000rpm right up to around 6000rpm where as the K29 delivers a huge surge and kick around 3600rpm and pulls a lot stronger up to around 6400rpm.

Maybe just my preference but the more brutal K29 gives the car a more existing edge.

If you have a chance to try the same car with the K27 HF you may find it fits nicely between the 2 giving you full boost early on with gobs of power all the way to redline. Very nice throttle control also. You are also probably feeling the differences between the 3.3 and 3.6.
