If it's nice out this weekend I'll take it out and get more pics

I only have photos of pickup in Ca. and delivery in N.J.

The weathers just getting nice here and I've only driven the car twice, put about
50 miles on it......hopefully soon!

This car was purchased at Beverly Hills Porsche and serviced there as well.
The service guy there actually wanted to buy it, said it was too much for him.

I'm happy and I think its pretty cool especially when I pop in the movie!
I was one of the first to see this car in person after seeing the ad on eBay...

As expected, the car looked like a low mileage Porsche that had been owned by a poseur - not maintained by an enthusiast. The tires were old, belts and hoses old (remember, low mileage doesn't prevent rubber from deteriorating). It needed quite a bit of TLC.

The car was repainted, as was obvious by the masking tape (painted over!) under the rear decklid. Not a bad re-paint, just done hurriedly (once again) by a poseur, not an enthusiast (who would have replaced the OEM engine compartment decals). This fact alone made me walk away...

Overall, not a bad car (or purchase for what you paid - $54,000)... just not what I was looking for.

Emission.........rear bumper was repainted , not entire car

I agree car was not maintained by an enthusist, but was maintained.

Also I paid less than what you stated, however I did have to pay shipping to east coast.
That was done by a friend ( Reliable Carriers ) for a real good price.

BTW..as there were such a limited number of cars I think finding a Diamond is going
to become more difficult. When this car was removed from Ebay there were 185 people
who had it on their watch list. I'm sure most were just curious, but it only takes two
to drive the price. I didn't buy to resell but I do like the fact that the car has some history.

The car will be going out for some TLC..inc. new tires, brakes, belts, hoses..etc
Ive seen cars with more milage going for same or more money.
Like I said before .....I'm happy with the deal and I'm glad to see it raises some
interest............Mike

Nothing wrong with a re-paint, especially if it is done correctly (as it was on your Bad Boys car). My current car (a "measly" 930 ) has quite a bit of fresh paint - all done very well.

I offered the high $40's for your car, and my deal was turned down. Rumor (among those who saw the car) was you paid $54K for it (maybe that included shipping?).

These days, clean 911 Turbos are all very unique, no matter what the year. As long as you are happy, you got a good deal.

A lot of the original OEM stickers are NLA (or were as of last August '04 when I tried to buy some...) There are replacements for some but they are different (i.e. Mobil instead of Shell, etc. etc.)

Update......car is almost complete.

I had new brakes, rotors, lines and new master cylinder as well as a complete tune up.
Also new tires and had any curb rub marks removed from wheels and new clear coat.
Belts were changed and new fuel pump installed.

Some things weren't necessary ie: fuel pump, master cylinder I just wanted piece of mind.

There were a few small blemishes in the front bumper and right front fender, so I had
the bumper removed and refinished and then had the entire car wet sanded with 2000
and buffed out. This took out almost all of the small scratches and swirl marks.

Last but not least they put in a new battery.

Also as I posted previously the car was not repainted, just the rear bumper.

I'm real happy with the results and only have a few more things to do to be complete.

Wonderful car Mike,

Both looking at the performance and by its classic value I think you have a very nice piece of Porsche. I couldn't care less what you paid for the car and I'm happy that you seem to be the enthusiast it needed.

Cheers

Speed........I don't plan any mods, I want to keep this car original

Rassel.....Thanks, I bought it to enjoy and price wasn't the only factor. I never saw the
car prior to purchase but had a pretty good idea what I was getting into. I still have some
things to do over the winter, I am going to have the rear bumper refinished and probably
the hood, as it has a few stone chips that are annoying me. Mechanically the car is perfect.

Chris .........The weather here is pretty lousy and the car is put away. If I do take it out
to the shop I'll take some photos.
