I wonder what this will bring. Selling at no reserve.

Bad Boys 1, Congrats on the buy. Where in NJ are you, apparently quite a number of 3.6T's have become NJ residents in the past 2 years or so. We should all get together for a group photo session if the weather ever gets any better.

BTW we need some pics when you get a chance.

Best of Luck

Mark S ...aka.. Flachbau.. I agree with what you said about celebrity cars not having
any special value, however I think cars used in movies carry a little more interest.

I was looking for a clean Turbo for a while and came across this car. I think I got
an excellent deal on a 33k mile car. Alot of the talk about a repaint isn't true.
The rear bumper skin was replaced as it was damaged in a parking lot.
This car was purchased at Beverly Hills Porsche and serviced there as well.
The service guy there actually wanted to buy it, said it was too much for him.

I'm happy and I think its pretty cool especially when I pop in the movie!

Congrats with the new car Mike,
I contacted the seller in this case which refered to Beverly Hills Porsche in terms of technical information about the vehicle, as I had a few questions that he could not answer, unfortunately the car was gone before they came around with an answer.

I have been on the lookout for a 3.6 turbo, and saw this on e-bay. I don´t know all the differences between the Euro modell and the US-modell, but there seems to be a few. (hard to find a lot about this on the internet, so I am shure you guys have some information about it)
Why does the car have the black calipers? The 3.6 turbo should have the reds?
The car has a French front plate, why this, as it is clearly a US modell? (bumperettes, ride hight, etc)
I seem to recall that the odometer only goes to 300 km/h converted into miles, whereas the euro models have a 320 km/h fitted. (this is one of the differences between the standard 964 odometer and the turbo)

It seems that two cars where used in the movie, one in the start of the movie with black calipers, and one on the end with red (in the final driving scene) What happened with the other one?

But again, congrats on a beautiful car

I can say that the black calipers were offered as an option instead of the red. I have seen several including L8apex's car which have the black calipers. Same caliper different paint. The red calipers probably stood out too much and drew the eye to them which is something they were probably trying to avoid. Although the piece of work walking across the street would have distracted anyone from red brake calipers.

Apparently there was more than one car used to make the movie. Mikes car I believe has the crests on his head rests. There is a scene in the movie with a car with black calipers and no crests. They also had the scene at the end with the car with red calipers. It could have been as many as three cars used. Not sure though. I am sure in the next 6 months Mike will have all the answers. I was told that at least one car was destroyed in the making of the movie. I guess Mike bought the one that Tea Leoni didn't sit in. Oh well, still a very nice and memorable car.

This car was put on Ebay by an employee of the owner and he didn't have any Porsche
knowledge but did have info on movie use. The movie had a low budget so the producer
Michael Bay decided to use his own car. There were a few duplicate cars and some that
were just pieces of a car, like when they shot close ups in car there were no windows.
The car I bought was only used in the opening scene, when Will Smith goes to Martin
Lawerence's house and at the crime scene at the hotel.

Most movie cars usually get trashed, however this car was the producers own vechicle
so it was not damaged in any way. I purchased the car from the second owner, Pat
Sandston, who purchased it from M.B. Pat was also a friend and producer at Jerry
Bruckheimer Films. He purchased it with 21k miles.

When the guy put the car on Ebay he took it to a park for photos and drove down a dirt
road , so the photos looked lousy. That kind of worked in my favor during purchase
as a lot of people thought the car was trashed.

Chris.......I don't know the reason for the front plate, I think it was just for effect,
but I'm leaving it on.

If anybody is interested in the details of sale I would be glad to accomadated
Thanks for the interest.............Mike

Btw, Cobalt you are correct, my car does have the crests in the seat backs. You
can see that in the opening scene. Unfortunally Tea Leoni was not in this car,
I probably would have paid a little more for that

Mike

That car is amazing! and despite what has been said I would pay significantly above market value to own what is in my mind an icon, my favourite ever car from my favourite ever film.....................it doesn't get much better than that in my opinion.

I wish it had been for sale in the UK, I could have added to my recent purchase of the Speedster from 48 hours.........................yeah right I wish!

Barry
