3.4 Conversion

Send your car to Stephen (just wait til after he finishes mine). Why mess around?
As to price, you are going to spend $15k plus on this project. The P&Cs alone are more than $4k, and there's no reason to skimp on a full rebuild once you have it in pieces. This can quickly become an "as long as I'm in there doing this I might as well..." project.

I am a lttle confused by your last post Chan. It sounded like you were going to 3.4 P&C. The list you post above sounds like a rebuild with some work on the intake system - keeping the CIS intact. That's ok, but I thought you were headed a different direction.
Others can talk about the components, but I don't think this approach is going to get a reliable 450 rwhp

Are you going EFI or staying with CIS?

I agree with Colin. By itself, a 3.4 conversion doesn't get you very far toward your goal. EFI with a new turbo and exhaust system ought to get you pretty close to what you seek.
What I still do not understand, is if you have to do an engine rebuild or you are just looking for more horsepower. To give you advice we need to know the current state of your motor. You also haven't said what you budget is for this project.
Did your shop quote a dollar amount for the work proposed?

HC,
If you do all the engine work without the EFI, you are going to run lean with CIS. If you go to EFI with the "relatively" stock engine, it isn't going to hold up over 500hp. If you want big horsepower, you have to do both.
You can get up to about 450hp fairly safely with CIS without doing a whole lot of engine work. If you want to take it in steps, do the engine work first and the EFI later.
I don't think it's really fair to say this is an either/or conversation as you really don't want to go all out on the EFI or on the engine without doing the other.
