RS Carpet Kit for a C2T?
Has anyone installed a RS Carpet kit (the proper one for a 964)? Where did you get it? How much did it cost? Can you post some pictures?

Corollary question: does removing the rear seat include the rear decklid area (where the back speakers are) and does the RS carpet kit cover this area?
What is the weight savings to be gained by "removing the rear seat" and what all does that entail removing?

Check the usual link were I have some pics of what was done on my car
Regarding weight saving and price I honestly don't know, I did so much stuff at the same time and I got a paket price. That should at least give you an idea on how it looks like when you remove stuff, keeping in mind that most of the sound insulation material was removed as well.
DrJupeman to your question r.e. the carpet covering the decklid it certainly looks like that on mine.
Also when you start removing your rear seats you will have to decide if you want to keep the seat fixation points or remove them. If you remove them it will look better when the carpets are on but forget about coming back to original trim.

It really depends. I've seen it done both ways. The track guys tend to replace the rear shelf as they don't have a need for rear speakers (or wiper in your case).
There are a couple of places that have it, look in Pano or on eBay. You'll have a couple of choices of material (Perlon or Sliverknit). The Perlon is lighter but the Sliverknit looks and feels better. The Perlon is cheaper by about half, IIRC.
The other thing is whether you remove the old carpet or the carpet and the padding. The padding is the heavy part. But when you remove it you get a lot of heat and noise back into the cockpit. The down side is that it's very tough to get eth carpet off of the padding. Or at least it has been for me.
FWIW, my friend said he took 85 pounds of carpet, padding and stuff out of his car. He went back with paint to save weight.

Lets say that if you take the padding out you can forget about selling your car to a normal person afterwards.
