Right now the car weighs too little according to the Proposed PCA rule change for next year. PCA wants to add 240 lbs to the weight of the car compared to this year (2004=3000lbs 2005=3240lbs). Has anyone actually weighed their street C2T? If so, let me now what it weighs. I am really curious if it actually weoghs 3240 in street trim.

MODS
Full Mono *****
Bilstein adj coliovers
Strut brace
Stock swaybars (b/c the RSR bars I bought do not fit )
Rollcage
Recaro SPG Racer seat
Fikse and CCW wheels
Headers w/o heater boxes
Dump pipe for turbo and wastegate
Stock IC
A few other things that I don't want to mention

Justin, my car sounds similar (mod wise). The last time I had it corner balanced it came in at 3050 lbs with about a half tank of gas (no driver).

Do you know the wheel widths and offset your running on the Fikse's? How about your tire sizes?? Any fitment issues???

I had mine weighted on a few occasions.

First in almost original trim with 3/4 gas tank a 70kg driver 18inch rather heavy wheels and no muffler 3350 lbs

Then without aircond system, with race seats, lighter wheels, no radio, no sound deadening coating but with roll cage and a new muffler the car still weights 3190 lbs (with driver and approx the same amount of gas)

Thanks Justin!

What type of Bilstein coilovers are you using, is it the RSR type (think I asked you this before?), and if so, was there any fitness issues ?

Default Maiden voyage a success

The transformation is complete. I tracked the C2T this weekend with success. No major problems to report. I had a leaky oil line which I was able to repair with hydraulic hose from the tractor supply store and I had a problem with overboost in 3rd and 4th gear. I drove most of the weekend watching the mechanical boost guage stay under 1 bar. If it crept up over one bar it would cut the fuel pumps. The guage I have is the tell-tale type. Under accelaration it would pull about .9 bar in 1st and 2nd then in 3rd and 4th it would go over 1 bar if I didn't let off the gas. I would also get boost spikes NOT under load while shifting. Are boost spikes common? I have the boost guage connected to the throttle body after the throttle plate (at least I think that is where it is connected.) There is a small vacuum fitting in the throttle body that appears to get vacuum/boost pressure after the throttle plate.

I measure boost at manifold, I run about 0.85 - 0.9 bar of continous boost.
According to my Blitz EBC the maximum boost I ever had at manifold is 1.03 bar. The problem is that if I come off the throttle slowly, boost builds up in the intercooler which triggers the fuel cut-out switch, there is nothing positive about it.

I am going to move the fuel cut-out switch to measure boost at manifold which is the usual recommendation. My plan is to use the hose going to the de-accel valve (round brass disc under intercooler). You could plug in your boost gauge into this hose to see if you get the same value, that will tell if you are currently measuring manifold pressure or pressure in intercooler, my guess is the latter.
