Default EZ69 Bosch ignition control P/N: 965 602 706 01 VS P/N: 965 602 706 02

Gents,

Any comments on the differences between these 3.3/3.6 modules beyond the documents here as reference?

Does anyone run a 02 in their 3.3? - if so, why?

as far as i know porsche sold the 02 for the 3.6 longer than the 01 for the 3.3. it was possible to run the 02 in the early 3.3 cars. i am not deep enough in the details if any programming/ changes were needed.

If I read that correctly I would say be careful they are different. Changes to ignition map and change of location of pressure sensor would have me questioning if it is a good idea not to mention the other changes.

There is someone on Pelican that is working on a modernized unit. You might hold off and see what he comes up with.

Do you have access to either? They have both been NLA for quite some time and fetch huge money when come up for sale.

So with them being non-interchangeable without possible risk I do have a 02 for 3.6 as a spare. I also have an 01 locked away for my 3.3 should I need one.

If someone wants to PM me an offer for a 3.6 -02 please do.

Where would you suggest I post one for sale/auction? BaT?

Would be open to trading for a 3.3 WUR.

I find the comment in the 3.6 ServiceTechnk interesting about the pressure tap being behind the butterfly valve. I wonder if that would be a step in the right direction for a 3.3 upgrade to help eliminate the pulsing when pushing higher boost/ more aggressive cams. I’ll search for photos of the different throttle valve bodies for 3.3/3.6.

Although that might also need the 3.6 intercooler as I read is slightly thicker than the 3.3 but haven’t verified it.

You might have an S2 IC which was about 1" thicker core than the stock units. I would say sell now since they will probably loose value once the newer design is released. Assuming it works.

I have 2 spare .02's for my car and tried to sell one on ebay with 0 luck. But that was years ago. It might be something BaT would be interested in. If these fetch $5k or more it is no different than some sets of wheels.
