Hi all,
I used to own a 1991 964 turbo. The car is gone (run out of money) but I do have the original set CUP wheels which I'm trying to sell. I think the 964 turbo wheels are more special than the normal 964 wheels. En I also think that these wheels are the same which are mounted on the 964RS.
Am I right ?
And what can I ask for this wheels ? (no tyres, the wheels are mint)
Let me know !
Regards
Oscar

Oscar,
There was indeed as an option the 8" front and 9.5X17" rear rims setup, which are the same as those fitted to the 964 Cup cars. Not in Mg, but very rare.
More usual is the 7.5 and 9X17 on these cars which are more of a garden variety.
If you have the rare setup, than you're lucky. Some have gone for above 2K$

Maybe it's important to say I live in Holland, sprbxr (and rest)
(but shipping is always an option) Maybe 4 different packages, but her in here in Holland they are offering very, very low prices, so I decided to sell outside this country

Dear Oscar,
No you are not correct. The Turbo came standard with 7JX17 fronts and 9JX17 rears. These are not the same wheels which are mounted on the 964RS which came with 7.5JX17 and 9JX17 magnesium alloy wheels.
This is where the use of the word Cup wheels gets confusing. The width of your wheels is found alongside the air valve. It will say 7 for the front and 9 for the rear with an offset number of 55 on the other side of the valve.
I also hope this is a one off private sale and you are not a commercial seller.
Shipping costs to the USA of a set of wheels like this can be very expensive.
Ciao,
Adrian

Hi Adrian + list,
Indeed I just found out that the RS wheel are not the same. A Porsche specialist told me that the RS wheels are handcrafted (?!) Not sure if that was right, but anyway, they are different from the turbo wheels. It is indeed a private sale. I suppose these wheels don't fit a normal 964 ? Maybe a 930 ?
In that case my selling-chance is bigger, because of the low numbers of 964 turbo's in Holland.
Do you have any idea what the shipping costs could be overseas ?
Regards

The RS wheels are magnesium, and sought after. They will not fit a pre-89 911 without spaces. provided they are genuine and not replicas.
The Cup wheels are aluminum, and 8" and 9.5" in width. They fit the 964 but you need spacers in the rear.
