What cam profile / modification get this idle sound?

Default What cam profile / modification get this idle sound?

Does anyone have this type of build for their 3.3 964?

If so, what have you done to bring it to this level?

Is the power band pushed so far up in the RPM range it’s totally impractical for the street?


Thoughts and comments welcomed

It’s not exactly subtle, but it’s raw and crisp.

Mine, 1991 C2 Turbo:




Cam: TurboKraft 965S cam

better off boost & low end than stock and pulls to redline (6450 RPM , I set it low no need to rev a turbo)

The Cam has an BIG increase in HP and Torque over SC cams

Chris has done side by side testing , you will need to call him for details.

The lope at idle is exaggerated due to low idle, zork (no back pressure) and I have my o2 plugged in.
less lope with my muffler on.


Everything Happens @ below 6k RPM. The Motor revs so fast I have set the revlimit to 6400RM - off boost it drives like a N/A Carrera

I grew up in Germany. I spent many afternoons at the Nurburg Ring - walking through the pits I always was drawn to the Porsche 935's.

Now I have something close

Nyx,... with that 930 (Turbo body) that has the center exhaust,... clearly heavily modified,... are you sure that car is not a NA engine (verses single Turbo)??

Possible, and I did look again but….the badge on the back does say Turbo…

Even if it didn’t, I’m pretty sure I can see the waste-gate pipe also.

I want my rebuild program to achieve similar results. Seems fun
