Default Electrical Precuations for welding

I need to use the welder to remove a few broken studs, what precautions should I take before I take the welder to the 964 turbo, was thinking

Disconnect Battery
Remove plugs from EZL unit, or should I remove the whole unit
Remove plugs to an ECU under the passenger seat

Any other precautions you guys think I should take.

We always just disconnected the battery. But that climate control is super sensitive to even heavy jump boxes.
ABS, and alarm brain should be good.

Why would you use a welder to remove broken studs?
