I think that you will find Rear bumper removal as very straightforward. Item 7 maybe the most painful depending on your exhaust, wastegate arrangement.

This method removes the entire bumper fascia (Painted plastic) and the metal substructure as one. The whole job should be under 60min. And I will not bother telling you about fastener sizes, since it is really self-explanatory as you move forward.

1. Remove both rear wheels for easy access
2. Remove both rear plastic wheel liners (black plastic); I think that each side has: two Phillips heads and one plastic nut.
3. Remove both metal rear bumper fillers (metal shiny stuff); I think that each side has: four Phillips heads
4. There is one bracket on each side that holds the bottom edge of the bumper, remove the Phillips head that holds the bumper bottom to the bracket. I think that there is one on each side. You cannot miss them visually.
5. Remove right side taillight. And then disconnect the 2-pin connector for the license plate lights and push the grommet with the harness through. That harness will end up coming off with bumper.
6. On the top of the bumper and on each side; reach through the wheel well at the top, and remove FOUR small Hex sheet metal screws. These sheet metal screws hold the edge of the bumper to the rear quarters. That releases the bumper “ends” from the rear quarters.
7. Depending on your exhaust system, you will need to remove the right-side tip and the left side tip/etc. Why? Because you need to reach up for access to a large socket head (H12 I think) on each side. Loosen them both and the entire bumper should be loose then. Carefully remove both.
8. Carefully slide the whole assembly straight out. It is not that heavy but have some blankets on the ground in case that you drop it.

Other item: once you have removed the rear bumper, look at the license plate harness. The insulation material was completely deteriorated. Clearly, it was constructed of a different insulation material than the rest of the harness in my car.

You get to clean things up again.

On mine I found that the screws holding the bumper supports (the ones which also have the heatshield material attached) were very badly corroded, so much so that several of them had to have the heads cut off.

Also, be careful with the bumper... it's heavier than you expect!

Total PITA. Not hard. Just a pain. The screws closest to the rear wheel arches that hold the bumper to the quarter panel. Ugh.

Are you asking about the "orange" pipes in my picture?
In my recent tear down of the car, I completely removed the quiet exhaust, and switched to a custom-made jobber by my friend, and then ended up ordering new custom made heat ducts.

If my exhaust had been installed in the picture, then they would have been connected to the "heat boxes" on the exhaust. Yours should probably be the same way.
It maybe easier to advise if you post a couple of pictures.

That makes sense as to why they are just sitting there and not connected to anything as my exhaust has no heat boxes
