Hi, i didn't do it alone. I believe it is better to give it to a specialist. Most of the brake calipers are powder coated during rebuild, but this is not the method used by caliper manufacturers. There are 3 companies in Europe that professionally paint brake calipers using a conventional method, i.e. a gun.
It is a process of applying 4 layers, including one resistant to high temperatures. One of these companies is in Warsaw so I sent them away for reconstruction. Poland is not cheap anymore, I paid the equivalent of 750 pounds for full rebuild to new state incl pistons etc

750 pound is not a lot. if you see the price for parts alone it seems to be a very fair price. result is great!

While you have the rear bumper off just check under the edges of the rear quarters (above where the bumper support 'S' strips attach), it's a favourite place for dirt/moisture to settle.

I have learned that there is a dry ice blasting business opening up in southeast Michigan in April.
This is good news as prior to this, I would have to send my car down to Cincinnati for this work.
Looking forward to a clean undercarriage next year.

Yes and little easier than the old fashioned method: TurtleWax Tar & Bug Remover, scrub brush, power washer and have at it
So far I've got about 30% of my car cleaned this way.
